The special warrant under Order in Council P.C. 2025-462, authorized a total amount of $40,343,209,650 to be drawn from the Consolidated Revenue Fund on April 1, 2025. This allocation covers a wide range of government departments, agencies, and Crown corporations for the period from April 1 to May 15, 2025, as detailed in the accompanying schedule.

The funds are earmarked for various operational requirements across multiple sectors, including health, security, infrastructure, and economic development. Significant portions of the budget are directed to the Department of Indigenous Services ($6.26 billion), the Department of National Defence ($4.51 billion), and the Department of Health ($3.36 billion). Additionally, the Department of Employment and Social Development receives a substantial allocation of $1.71 billion, reflecting the ongoing governmental focus on social services and support.

Key allocations also include substantial sums for Crown corporations such as the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation ($778.65 million) and the Canada Post Corporation, which, while receiving no direct allocation in this particular warrant, continues to function as an integral part of Canada’s public sector infrastructure. The funding for the Canada Border Services Agency ($338.71 million) and the Correctional Service of Canada ($377.62 million) is vital to maintaining security and law enforcement efforts. Furthermore, various government agencies like the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and the Canada Council for the Arts are also recipients of considerable financial support to facilitate ongoing research, arts, and culture initiatives.

In addition to these large, well-established institutions, the special warrant includes allocations for numerous smaller bodies, such as the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 ($1.1 million), the Canadian High Arctic Research Station ($5 million), and the Canadian Race Relations Foundation ($1.5 million), highlighting the government’s continued investment in diverse areas ranging from cultural heritage to scientific research. Even specialized organizations, such as the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission ($16.75 million) and the Communications Security Establishment ($142.63 million), receive funding to uphold their responsibilities in national security and regulatory oversight.

The special warrant also extends to support for regional economic development, including the Federal Economic Development Agency for Northern Ontario ($9.37 million) and the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec ($40.64 million).

The total budget of over $40 billion shines a light on the Canadian government’s investment in maintaining and improving the country’s socio-economic framework, ensuring the continued functioning of its key institutions and services during the specified period.
