On July 5, 2022 an order was made by the Northumberland County Forest Products Marketing Board pursuant to the Forest Products Marketing Boards Levies Regulation under the Natural Products Act amending board order 2014-401 by replacing sections 3(a) and 3(b) with the following:

“3(a) Administration Levy: All producers marketing a regulated product shall pay a levy of 1.3% of the delivered price of all regulated product marketed from the regulated area, except biomass.”

“3(b) Forest Management Levy: All producers marketing a regulated product shall pay a levy, to be known as the forest management levy of 2.0% of the delivered price of all regulated product marketed from the regulated area, except biomass.”

The Northumberland County Forest Products Marketing Board was formed in 1974 under government regulations, on a request from Northumberland County Woodlot Owners Association (NWOA) to establish a Marketing Plan covering primary forest products originating from private woodlots in the County of Northumberland, with the exception of Parish of Alnwick and Rogersville.

NWOA is a non-profit organization created by Woodlot Owners, for Woodlot Owners. NWOA acts as a representative to maintain a good working relationship with related affiliations. The Association endorses prudent sustainable woodlot management through such things as Education, Training, Silviculture, sound financial decisions, and environmentally acceptable forest practices.
